Our Lady of Lourdes’ Youth Ministry process offers opportunities for parish members in grades 7-12 to be involved, active, concerned, and to grow in their faith.
The eight components of a comprehensive ministry process, outlined in the National Conference of Catholic Bishops’ “Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry,” are implemented:
Advocacy – speaking on behalf of those in need
Catechesis – using sacred Scripture and Tradition to form disciples
Community Life – an environment of concern, support, and appreciation of diversity
Justice and Service – working for justice, serving those in need, pursuing peace and respecting the life, dignity, and rights of all people
Leadership – calling forth, affirming, and empowering the gifts, talents, and abilities of youth
Prayer and Worship – celebrating and deepening our relationship with God through communal and liturgical prayer
Evangelization – inviting and empowering people to live as disciples
Pastoral Care – compassionate presence and outreach to those in need
Our Lady of Lourdes’ Youth Ministry process is a call to action, a truly lived faith.
