An update on the video - Bryan Lawson is working on a DVD video and we hope to have it ready to show next Friday, 2/15, at the Fish Fry, along with copies available to buy!! (Please let Ann Russo know ASAP if you will want one, so we can have plenty available. Can't tell you right now how much it will cost until we take it somewhere to be duplicated.) In the meantime, please enjoy looking at the stills on Bryan's website that were taken by Julianne Bibelhauser, Sandy Miller, Ann Russo and Todd Coke at this link. You can right click to save any photos to your hard drive, then you can print them out. You'll also want to watch this great montage put together by Julianne http://www.photoshow.com/watch/PC7ti5Xf
MANY THANKS, too, to OUR AWESOME LOURDES NIGHT VIDEOGRAPHER AND PHOTOGRAPHERS for sharing your time and talents with all of us!! It definitely was a memory making evening!!!!
ADULT PROGRAMS:
SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES
This parish started with RENEW 2000 in
the fall of 1998. This opportunity will continue in the fall and
again during Lent each year. Other small group offerings will be
available in the fall of 2002 -among them will be scripture study
and sessions on Catholic teachings. These groups usually meet in
homes and the sessions run 6 to 8 weeks. Sign up opportunities are
announced in the bulletin.
COUPLES GROUP
This is a small group of couples (with a spiritual
director) that meet together in homes every 4 to 6 weeks. Their commitment
is to support each other in their lives and to provide some social
experiences with people they may not know well or have occasion to
meet regularly. New groups form regularly.
ADULT ENRICHMENT
On a regular basis, enrichment opportunities are
offered for adults in the parish. They are announced in the bulletin
and in Lourdes Life (our parish newsletter.) Offerings include a
monthly Book Club, seasonal evenings of reflection, "Nights Out" which
include supper and a talk, men's and women's retreats, a yearly Parish
Mission, and an Advent Book Sale. Suggestions are always welcome.
MOMS GROUP
The gathering of moms meets for mutual support and discussion
on the first Wednesday of the month at 9:00am in the Adult Center.
Babysitting is available. Meetings are from September to May with
summer picnics replacing the regular meeting sessions.
BOOSTER CLUB
Booster Club Membership is open to all women and men
of the parish who wish to promote and support the various parish
sports program. The Booster Club is the prime organizer of the annual
Homecoming Festival, a celebration of summer for the Parish with
social activities, games, good, and family fun. The Booster Club
jointly sponsors the Lenten Fish Fries with the PTO. Volunteers work
in a variety of activities.
RE-ENVISIONING AGING
Re-envisioning Aging is designed for small groups
of eight to ten seniors (65+) who gather on the third Thursday of
the month at 1:30pm in the Parish Center to share and reflect on
their lives and discover where God is in this process.
PEP (PEOPLE ENJOYING PEOPLE)
PEP is a social organization of people
50 years and older enjoying each other's company and encouraging
participation of seniors in the parish community. Monthly meetings
are held and games or programs and refreshments follow business meetings.
Outside programs include trips, attending theater productions, dinners,
and sporting events, and visits to historical sites and places of
interest.
ALTAR SOCIETY
Altar Society membership includes all ladies of our
parish. Meetings every other month provide opportunities for members
to gather, attend Noon Mass, share lunch, socialize and listen to speakers. Those who can, volunteer to lightly clean the Church,
and to deliver flowers to shut-ins at home or in nursing homes during
Christmas and/or Easter seasons. |
