Pastoral Care Ministry . . .
Pastoral Care is the intentional mission of the entire parish community. The goal is to reconnect and build up who we are as the Body of Christ.
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY
Supports families in the parish who have experienced a death. Trained persons help plan and carry out the funeral liturgy, lead prayer vigils at the funeral home, and provide food service. Follow up newsletters, phone calls, when possible, and information regarding Archdiocese support group classes is offered. An annual mass of remembrance is held.
HEALING BLANKETS
A sewing ministry that creates simple lap blankets to touch the lives of people with chronic or serious illness.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TO THE SICK AND ELDERLY
Trained parishioners lead communion services or bring communion individually to residents of Belmont Village, Atria St. Matthews, Golden Living St. Matthews and Twinbrook Nursing Home. We also bring communion to patients at Baptist Hospital East daily. Other persons minister to homebound parishioners on a weekly basis. In addition a "visitation" ministry is in process to parishioners residing in nursing/assisted living facilities other than the above.
PRAYER LINE
A telephone ministry whereby parishioners may call and speak with a designated staff member to request prayer for their special needs or the needs of others. The designated staff person at the Parish Center will place and update requests on a prayer Line as the need arises. Persons may obtain the prayer requests Monday through Friday by calling the Prayer Line.
